Second annual Empty Bowls Feast in Carson City is scheduled

The second annual Empty Bowls Soup Feast to end hunger in Carson City will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5. Participants can join in the soup feast and keep an artisan bowl.

All proceed will go to FISH to feed the hungry. The event is being held in conjunction with the Carson City Chamber of Commerce’s Snowflakes Festival of Lights and tree lighting event.

Cost is $12 per person, which includes on artisan bowl and the chance to enjoy soup donated by Carson City restaurants and organizations. A silent auction consisting of hand-made bowls, select bowls, other artwork and merchandise will also abe held.

$12/person includes one artisan bowl and admission to enjoy locally made soup donated by Carson restaurants and organizations. In addition, a silent auction consisting of donated handmade select bowls, other artwork and merchandise.

At last year’s first event, the community gathered at the tree lighting ceremony and collected donations for more than 600 hand-made bowls. More than $2,700 was raised for FISH.
