This time Carson High didn’t suffer a late-game letdown. The Senators scored two second-half goals en route to a 3-2 win over league-leading Galena in a Sierra League boys soccer match Wednesday night at the Jim Frank Track & Field Complex.
When the 2014 season started, Carson High had to replace three starters on its offensive line, including all-region guard Andy Cooper.
Since Blair Roman took the reins in 2008, Galena High has given the Senators some of their toughest games. Carson has won four of the seven matchups against Steve Struzyk-coached Galena teams, outscoring Galena 168-129 in that span.
