Twenty-five years ago Chas. Pop was playing Shakespeare in this city. Mrs. Norton Bush was the leading lady, Crosby the comedian, and Pop Sullivan doing the heavy. Georgie Woodthorpe, a mere slip of a girl, was playing ingénue parts. One evening Mr. Townsend and the writer were behind the scenes ready to give a helping hand. Miss Woodthorpe was playing the part of a young prince and had the most stunning attire or plume colored doublet and dove colored hose.
