Bishop Manogue won four of the last six sets to edge Carson, 10-8, in a boys tennis match Thursday afternoon at Carson.
Carson dropped to 8-3, while Manogue is 9-1 with one match left in the regular season.
Kyle Kunz and Aaron Woodbury went 3-0, dropping nine games in three sets while Jared Hearn and Trevor Solberger went 2-1, winning 6-4 twice.
Jake Jones, Tyler Warren and Taylor Saarem all went 1-2, with all their wins coming against Manogue’s No. 3 singles player.
GIRLS TENNIS
Manogue rolls past Carson
RENO — Carson concluded the regular season with a 14-4 road loss to Bishop Manogue Thursday afternoon.
Preeta Amin won 6-1 and 6-2 to lead the Senators, who will start the team playoffs on the road Tuesday. Shaylin Segura won 6-4 in singles.
Amanda Breen and Emma Breeding won 6-0 in a doubles match.
BOYS SOCCER
Sparks pounds Dayton
SPARKS — Jesus Partida and Raul Sanchez scored two goals apiece to lead Sparks to an easy 8-1 win over the Dust Devils Wednesday afternoon.
The Railroaders led 3-0 at the half, and tacked on five second-half goals while allowing just one.
Sparks got off 46 shots, 24 on goal.

Sparks blanks Dayton
SPARKS — Offense continues to be a problem for the Dust Devils, who dropped a 7-0 decision to the previously winless Railroaders.
Dayton has been blanked in four of its last five games.
FOOTBALL
Carson freshmen edge Mustangs
Carson (2-2) overcame a 20-7 first-quarter deficit and Damonte’s goal line stand for the 21-20 comeback win.
Down 20-14, Carson drove down to Damonte’s 1-yard line early in the third quarter, but Damonte turned away Carson with a goal line stand. But on the ensuing possession, Kyle Glanzmann returned an interception 20 yards for a touchdown.
Damian Wallace, whose kicking turned out to be the difference, made his third extra point in three tries to give Carson a 21-20 lead.
Carson took a 7-0 lead on Abel Carter’s 35-yard TD run before Damonte went on to take a 20-7 lead. Near the end of the first half, Wallace scored on a 20-yard run to pull Carson to within 20-14 at halftime.
Linebackers Richard Romero and Carter, and defensive back Dallin Shaffer played well as did offensive lineman Vince Hershman for Carson.
