LAS VEGAS — Authorities say one man was shot and a suspected gunman was arrested in the lobby of a state agency that handles disabled worker claims and hearings in Las Vegas.
The wounded man’s identity wasn’t immediately made public after the single gunshot was fired a little before 9 a.m. Monday at the Nevada Attorney for Injured Workers.
Las Vegas police Officer Larry Hadfield says the wounded man was hospitalized at nearby University Medical Center with injuries that weren’t believed to be life-threatening.
Hadfield says his suspected assailant was subdued by security officers and arrested when police arrived at the office building on Rancho Drive near Sahara Avenue.
Robin Chase, the supervising attorney in the office, says employees locked down inside hearing rooms and work spaces after the single gunshot was heard.
