Tahoe Ridge expanding to Carson City?

Tahoe Ridge Winery intends to expand to Carson City in space that formerly housed a restaurant on South Carson Street, according to unsubstantiated reports.

The winery’s outlet will go in the former Station Grill, 1105 C. Carson St., and a Carson City Chamber of Commerce email on it called this “a great upscale fit for our city” as well as an addition to the community’s tourism offerings.

Also the Chamber’s brief item mentioned the Carrington Co. in California, which owns both the mall and the former restaurant building, but a call to Joanne Holmes of that property management firm left the matter unconfirmed. She cited her policy any information on leasing must come from or be authorized by any potential tenant.

A call to Tahoe Ridge indicated such information was “jumping the gun” and an email address for Tom King, Tahoe Ridge’s chief operating officer, was provided. No immediate reply to a message was received late Thursday.

The former Station Grill space on Carson Street is 10,000 square feet and the space has been vacant for years. More details are expected either today or in the near future, but the Chamber item thanked Carrington Co. executives “for diligently improving their little corner of the our world — both the Carson Mall and the former restaurant.”
