Cheers & Kudos: Carson ATA Karate donates to American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society received a donation of $310 from the Carson ATA Karate for Kids. Students, instructors, and parents raised the funds by selling pink karate belts and T-shirts in honor of breast cancer awareness month. We would like to acknowledge their efforts, thank them for their donation and especially their help in the fight against cancer.

In 2013, one out of every two women diagnosed with breast cancer reached out to the American Cancer Society for more information on their diagnoses and support. The society currently has $84 million invested in breast cancer grants and we have invested more in breast cancer research than in any other cancer.

The American Cancer Society has played an important part in nearly every major breakthrough in recent history; the discoveries include lifesaving treatments such as Herceptin and Tamoxifen medications and establishing mammography as the standard for finding breast cancer early.

Thank you again to the Carson ATA Karate for Kids for your donation and creating awareness in your community. We appreciate your donation!
