MINDEN — Douglas High’s volleyball team played well, but was swept by Reed, 22-25, 24-26 and 23-25 in the first match on the newly renovated Randy Green Court Wednesday night.
Carmen Shaw led the way with 13 kills and Ariah Barth added nine. Emma Sperry and Taylyn Jackson had 15 assists apiece.
Douglas is now 6-3.
On Tuesday, Douglas beat Truckee 25-18, 20-25, 25-16 and 25-13 to improve to 6-2.
Jackson had three kills, 26 assists and 10 digs, Raychel Allen had 13 digs and Shay Worley also had 13 digs.
Maddy Lowe had 18 digs and six kills while Sperry finished with 19 assists. Aubrey Caires collected 12 kills and two digs. Isabelle Peterson had nine kills and 3.5 blocks.

Niki D’Agostino had 21 kills and 12 digs to lead Virginia City to a 22-25, 25-16, 21-25, 25-23 and 15-13 win over Portola Tuesday night.

Dust Devils blank Lions
YERINGTON — Elvia Ledesma, Alaura Greenwalt, Jessie Ingham all scored two goals to lead the Dust Devils to an easy 8-0 nonleague win on Tuesday.
Kristina Mason and Nayelli Gutierrez shared time in goal. Each keeper recorded two saves.
Genesis Franco and Zaria Landis scored a goal each.
Dayton visits Fernley Tuesday at 3.

Yerington stops Dayton
YERINGTON — Jorddy Diaz scored in the 76th minute, but that was the Dust Devils’ only score in a 9-1 loss to Yerington on Wednesday afternoon.
Jaime Avila had the assist for Dayton, which returns to action next Tuesday at 5 p.m.
“We only have one senior and two or three juniors,” said Vismar Rivas. “The rest are freshmen and sophomores. We’re still trying to find the right positions for everybody.”
