The Carson boys soccer team continued its dominant play, improving to 3-0 with a 5-0 win over Spanish Springs on Friday at the CHS athletic complex.
Carson opened up a 4-0 lead at halftime. Ryan Galvan continued his scoring ways by opening the scoring off on assist from Rogelio Herrera. Herrera also assisted on the next goal by Octavio Virrueta. Alex Gonzalez then scored on a nice shot from just outside the goal box. Guillermo Hernandez drew a penalty in the goal box and Oscar Ventura converted the penalty kick to give the Senators a 4-0 halftime lead.
Hernandez, who contributed to three of Carson’s five goals, concluded the score by dribbling past the Cougars’ goalie and putting the ball in the net. Carson goalie Victor Guardado posted the shutout.
“Every game the team has successively gotten better at their communication and their passing,” Carson coach Mike Alvarez said. “It was an incredible showing by the team.”
