Mad dog. A passenger on the Genoa stage was severely bitten by a dog supposed to be mad. The dog had a fit on the stage and when his master was trying to quiet him, the dog turned and grasped the man’s hand in is mouth.

Raving maniac: An aged woman started for Goldfield penniless and was later found roaming about the desert a raving maniac. Before she was captured, she attempted to kill two children and hid away in a lumber pile. She had wandered about the desert until she was almost exhausted. When captured, she was taken to Hawthorne where she will be examined for insanity.

Promotion. Lieutenant Sylvia Crowell Blackburn of Carson City has been promoted to captaincy in the WACS. She is the daughter of Mrs. Lucy Crowell.

Rodeo. Len Thurman of the Carson City Nugget is co-sponsor of the First Annual Nevada Day Rodeo and Centennial Stampede. Thurman said, “The introduction of a rodeo presentation to the Carson City area as a yearly event is welcomed by many of the citizens. With the construction of the Tahoe Carson Speedway, the community now has an arena suited for rodeo programs.”
