RENO — The Nevada baseball team made sure there would be no drama on Friday night at Peccole Park as it rolled to a 12-1 win over UNLV.
The night before, Nevada blew an 8-1 lead before pulling out a 10-9 win in 12 innings
But this time, Christian Stolo (3-1) allowed just one run on two hits over six innings to pick up the win for the Wolf Pack. Evan McMahan and Stolo combined on a three-hitter. The three hits allowed were the fewest for Nevada this season.
Nevada also scored in double digits for the eighth time this season as it had 17 hits. Kewby Meyer led the Wolf Pack, going 4-for-5 and scoring three runs. Ryan Howell also had four RBI, giving him 46 for the season, tied for first in the nation.
The two teams will conclude the series at 1 p.m. today at Peccole Park.
