Sierra Place Senior Living plans a grand reopening event the afternoon of April 30 at the Carson City independent and assisted living center.

The center, which is located at 1111 W. College Parkway, underwent a remodel and plans the public open house from 3-6 p.m. on that final Thursday in April.

“We have remodeled the whole interior and all of the apartments,” said Jane Carlson, Sierra Place community relations director. She said there are 64 apartments with 65 residents currently living there. The center is licensed for 73.

There will be food, beverages, entertainment and tours for those attending the open house. Carlson said the entertainment will include singing by a Frank Sinatra impersonator named Gary Douglas, and there may even be an appearance by a Marilyn Monroe impersonator as well. People interested in more information on the open house or a private tour may call (775) 841-4111.
