Charles Poe and Roger Hala tied for first place in Flight A at the recent Carson Valley Golf Club event on April 26.
Both golfers shot a net 65, one shot better than Dan Essary.
David Morris won B flight with a 66, one shot better than Jim Arena and five better than Chuck Householder. Paul Lockwood won C flight with a 67. Paul Finan followed with a 68 and Robert Van Nort was third with a 72.
All prize money for the event was donated to the local Boys and Girls Clubs.
Ramirez wins at Silver Oak
Annette Ramirez shot a net 55.5 to win Silver Oak’s Women’s Club Strike 3 tournament on April 16.
Adrienne Weintz and Vicki Barbaria tied for second in Flight 1 with 56.5 each, and Karin Pitcock and Kathryn Streeter tied for fourth at 59.0.
Ruthann Wagner and Sue Farcello tied for first in Flight 2 with 58.5, Jan Burgman was third at 59 and Tina Luce was in fourth at 60.
Johnson takes top spot
Kevin Johnson shot a net 64 to win the first flight title at Silver Oak last weekend. He beat Harvey Naito, Milo Beauchman and Wes Camp by two shots and Josh Nelson by three.
The title for the second flight went to Kyle Menath, who shot a net 62. Tyler Roberts was second with a 65, while Bill Fraser and Joe Paden tied for third at 66. Johnson had the low gross round with a 69.
On April 19, Silver Oak traveled to Genoa Lakes, and Tim Hines won the first flight with a 65, while Jim Sapien and Larry Johson tied for second with 66s. Donald Swanson was fourth with a 68. Bill Prowse and Jeff Cloutier tied for first in the second flight with 69s. Osu Kwon was third with a 70, and Bill Fraser and Shawn Mott tied for fourth with 71s. Hines was the low gross winner with a 73.
Charles Spencer shot a net 67 to win first flight honors at the monthly Masters event. Beauchman was second with a 68, while Jim Fuller and Lee Plemel tied for third with 69s. Adam Koehm won the second flight with a 66, while Bert Wells, Clark Balik and Gary Yoakum shot 70s.
Swanson wins Empire event
Donald Swanson shot a net 61 to win Flight A at the Empire Ranch Senior Men’s Club stroke play event April 29.
Bob Pemberton was second at 63 and John Masiello was third at 65.
In Flight B, Bob Pitcock won via tiebreaker over Tony Barbaria. Both shot 65. Robey Willis was third at 67. Albert Giannoti won Flight C with a 61, three strokes ahead of Gary Mick and four better than Nils Sharpe. Chris Nenzel won Flight D with a 61, which was one better than Marty Martinez and three better than Carl Slate.
CTC holds mixer
The Carson Tennis Club is holding its fourth annual Spring Mixer at the Centennial Park courts on May 2. The mixer will have a Cinco de Mayo theme.
Check-in is at 8 a.m. with doubles play expected to start at 9.
