Warm Springs Prison inmate fight sends one to hospital

One inmate was hospitalized and six others were treated for minor injuries at Warm Springs Prison in Carson City after they got into a fight in the dining hall and refused to break it up.

Officers fired several rubber pellets to break them up.

One wounded inmate was Care Flighted to Renown Hospital in Reno. Another inmate involved in the fight was treated and released to his cell.

Five other inmates who were not involved in the fight suffered superficial wounds form the rubber pellets and were treated at the prison.

The Inspector General’s Office is investigating.
