It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother. After a long illness, Mom passed away peacefully at her home in Carson City with her daughter at her bedside. Mom was born in Napier, TN to George W. Scott and Cora Ferguson Scott. She was the youngest of 10 children, and was predeceased by her parents, sisters Margaret Spann and Annie Mae Coley, and six brothers, Alec, Arch, George, Roy, Lloyd and Claude. Mom was a joyful, thoughtful, kind and caring person that was always therefor her family and friends. She could brighten the darkest day. She loved her family with all of her heart and made that clear by her actions. She was a wonderful mother and best friend. Mom was an excellent cook and loved cooking for her family. We all loved her scrumptious stuffed cabbage, southern style green beans, amazing stick to your ribs chicken & dumplings and creamy chocolate pie. No one ever left herhouse hungry. Mom was an avid bowler for 40 years and had many high scores of 250 and above. While living in Michigan she also enjoyed playing Bingo. We always knew when it was Bingo night because dinner was goulash. After moving to Carson City in 1995 you could find Mom playing the nickel poker machines at one of her favorite casinos. Mom had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh and always had a twinkle in her eye. She was a gentle soul with a soothing touch and manner. She could calm any fussy baby or troubled adult. She is survived by her daughter Sandra Small, sons Jeffrey (Nancy), and Ronald Ainsworth (Karen) of Michigan, her brother Billy Scott (Jewell) of Arizona, 7 grandchildren, Monica, Mark and Matthew Baker, Jessica Saylors (Joe), Amber and Raymond Ainsworth, Candace Ainsworth, and eight great grand children. Feel no guilt in laughter, I know how much you care, Feel no sorrow in a smile that I’m not here to share. You cannot grieve forever, I would not want you to.I hope that you can carry on, the way you always do. So talk about the good times and the ways you showed you cared, The days we spent together, all the happiness we shared. Let memories surround you. A word someone may say will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day. That brings me back as clearly as though I were still here, And fills you with the feelings that I am always near. For if you keep these moments, we will never be apart,And I will live forever locked safe within your heart.
