Robbers and rebels. It was expected that the “road agent” case would commence at Dayton. Soldiers are guarding the prisoners and Uncle Sam’s mails are collaterally interested in the prosecution. J.M. Hardy appears for the agents. James is the same individual who when serving as the District Judge in California came out saying his mother was born in the south and, “I am a rebel by God; and I don’t care who knows it.” It is rather hard for a jury of loyal men to listen to such stripe of critters. The case ought to have had a change of venue —- to Canada. Gold Hill News.

Greenville Appeal (continued from Sunday). The result is shown: A striking face — The fashion editor of this paper has just had the pleasure of receiving a photo of the editor of the Carson Appeal. It is just such a face as one would expect after reading the humorous articles of our Nevada contemporary. The marked feature of this happy face is the eye, which has a merry laugh and loving twinkle ... we place it among our cabinet collection with the hope that the original will some day step in and give us a fraternal call. If Miss Rawson’s photo arrives in a few days, we shall feel bound to turn it over to the governor.

Big Day in Dayton. Yesterday was a big day for Dayton. It was being celebrated by the Italians who life about the old Lyon County capitol as a religious holiday known as Santa Maria Day.

The Nevada Appeal will file a complaint with the state Attorney General’s office protesting what editor Don Ham said was a possible illegal vote by the Board of Supervisors on a closed personnel session.
