Nevada JobConnect is holding job fairs in Reno and Carson City today and Thursday.
Today’s event is at the Summit Mall in Reno from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. It’s designed to help fill more than 50 jobs with retailers and restaurants at the mall, which is at 13945 S. Virginia St. The job fair there is in Suite 636.
In Carson City on Thursday, the job fair also runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. and is going to be in the community’s Fuji Park Exhibit Hall, 601 Old Clear Creek Rd., near the city’s southern boundary. Recruiting there will be for a combined 300 or more job openings, according to Renee Olson, a state administrator.
Olson, with the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation’s Employment Security Division, said more than 30 businesses are expected at the Fuji Park Exhibit Hall that day.
The Thursday job fair will include businesses from across all industries, while the one at the mall today will include recruiting for such positions as retail sales clerks, retail management, cooks, servers, hosts, bartenders and more.
“These job fairs,” said Olson, “are a great opportunity for those looking for work to meet directly with businesses and learn about a variety of jobs on the spot. Job seekers should come dressed professionally with plenty of resumes to distribute to businesses.”
Nevada JobConnect is a state office providing employment-related services at no cost to job seekers and employers.
