Feb. 18, 1940 - Aug. 5, 2015
Richard Kukan was born on February 18th, 1940 to Helen and Paul Kukan in Lafayette, Pa. Richard grew up living life on his own terms. He enlisted in the United States Marines Corps as soon as he was old enough and he served for many years. His other career choices ranged from managing various Bar and Taverns to a Construction Foreman in Alaska. It has been said that, Richard had a no nonsense work ethic. As a manager, if you came willing to work, great, if you were going to be lazy, then go home! He worked for the W.C.W. Corporation for the last 9 years at the Bonanza Inn and Casino, Fallon Nugget, and Headquarters in the capacity of overnight Manager until the time of
his death. Richard is survived by his two sons, John Kukan and Richard Kukan II. His sister Paulette Summers and a brother, Larry Kukan. He also leaves behind many friends who would recognize him from across the room by his trademark look of a tan quilted hunting jacket and his red Marine Corp cap. He will be missed by the many that knew him, especially his co-workers. Perhaps there will come a time that his jacket will find a permanent place in the
Headquarters Bar as a sort of shrine to our friend. Until then, rest in peace, Richard Kukan.
