Bill Byrnes, age 73, died in his home in Dayton, Nevada on Sunday, August 23, 2015 after medical complications. Bill was born in San Francisco in 1941 and educated at Riordan High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree at University of Nevada, Reno and his Master’s Degree at Northern Arizona University. He played for the Wolf Pack Football team as starting left defensive end. He retired from the Clark County School Disctrict in Las Vegas where he taught history and government, and coached soccer teams. He relocated to Dayton Valley Country Club in Dayton, Nevada. Family members include Lenore Byrnes and sons Mike Byrnes (Shawna Ekholt), Sparks, NV; Patrick Byrnes, UT; and John Byrnes, UT. His granchildren include Kelli and Braden Byrnes who reside in Utah. Bill’s sister, Barbara McDonald, lives in Greenbrae, California. He was a loyal fan of Wolf Pack teams and the San Francisco 49ers and Giants. Bill will be buried in the Dayton cemetery in Lyon County, Nevada. Nevada Funeral Services has been trusted with arrangements.
