Nevada Highway Patrol recovers 63 pounds of marijuana

Two Plumas Lake, Calif., were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking charges after a Sunday traffic stop.

Patrick Fay, 64, and Corinne Fay, 57, were stopped at 11:10 a.m. on eastbound IR80 near Robb Drive in Washoe County for a moving violation.

After Nevada State Troopers became suspicious of criminal activity. A Nevada Highway Patrol K-9 was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotic odor coming from the vehicle. A hand search of the vehicle revealed 63 pounds of marijuana.

Both occupants were transported to the Washoe County Jail where they were booked on trafficking charges.
