Family and friends of a Carson Valley man are raising money for him after he received a serious head injury in a fall.

Brent Olson was working on Oct. 29 when he fell off a 10-foot ladder and into a similarly deep ditch, fracturing his skull, according to his daughter Daylin.

Brent suffered severe brain trauma, along with several other injuries, including a broken collarbone, broken ribs and a punctured lung.

On Friday, Brent was moved into a rehab facility after spending more than a month in the hospital.

According to Missy Swirczek, who set up the gofundme page, he is stable and is physically mobile.

“The swelling in his had has not gotten worse, and (he) is on the road to recovery,” she said.

Therapists will be working with him to improve his speech, occupation and physical abilities.

The Olson’s property was damaged during the July 2014 Hot Springs Mountain flooding.
