Fenian meeting. Center Derham honored us with a visit last evening and desired us to state that a meeting of the Fenians of Carson and vicinity would be held at the Pavilion this afternoon at 3 o’clock for the purpose of transacting some business of importance necessary to be transacted at this time.

The other morning Dr. Southworth hearing a noise in his stable went out and found that a pig belonging to Corecco, the milkman, was burying itself in his bin of oats and barley specifically designed for his steed, Hunter. The doctor immediately seized a club and began the belabor the posterior of the swine, but the thinking end of the animal did not appear to realize what was going on at the other. Not till he grabbed a pitchfork did the swine realize what was going on and ran into George McLoughlin’s yard (continued on Friday).

The Ten Commandments for Christmas giving (continued from Wednesday). 7. Thou shalt have thy gifts ready several days before the time of delivery, that the immediate days before Christmas may be filled with peace and happiness, and not with turmoil and frenzy. 8. Thou shalt seek the abodes of the poor and friendless with such wholesome gifts as may cheer and nourish their hungry bodies and hearts (continued on Friday).

Joseph Kramer, beetle-browed czar of the notorious Belsen concentration camp, and 10 other Belsen officials were hanged in the red brick prison of Hamelin yesterday. For more than six hours the 11 were marched in turn to the gallows.

The Gemini Seven astronauts, still vigorous and mentally alert in the ninth day of the marathon space voyage, hurtled on toward new endurance records today and looked forward eagerly to a Wednesday rendezvous with Gemini Six.

An “unusual failure” of equipment made by Lift Engineering and Manufacturing Co. of Carson City was responsible for an accident that tumbled dozens of skiers off a chair lift Saturday at Keystone resort in Colorado, a company official said today.
