Be safe on the road
Over the past months I have addressed many subjects related to traffic safety. These articles were written to educate and inform you, the motoring public, on a variety of issues from drinking and driving to pedestrian safety and other situations that arose during the year.
Now, as you travel to your holiday destinations to spend time with loved ones and friends, I ask that you take some time to consider what I have written about. Arriving safely should be your No. 1 priority.
You and your children should be buckled up and secure in case you are involved in a car crash; as the risk is greatly increased during winter driving conditions. Once you arrive, you and yours will greet one another and begin reminiscing about holidays past and making lasting memories for those in the future.
Making the right choices can lead to a holiday filled with joy and happiness to be remembered for years to come.
On behalf of Sheriff Furlong, the employees and auxiliary units of the Carson City Sheriff’s Office would like to wish you all a safe and happy holiday season.
