Carson girls basketball team has win-streak snapped leads prep roundup

TRACY — Carson High’s girls basketball team had its three-game win streak snapped by Venture Academy, 76-34, Monday night at the Tracy Breakfast Lions Basketball Tournament at Tracy High School.

The loss dropped Carson to 4-5 on the season. Carson plays Lathrop at 5:30 p.m. today.

“They made all their shots and attacked the basket,” Carson coach Melissa Larsen said. “We just couldn’t stop them.”

Carson trailed 36-24 at the half, but was outscored 40-10 in the second half.


JV GIRLS

Carson edges Fallon

RENO — Ku’ulei Haupu scored 24 points and Camiell Simpson added 14 to lead the Senators to a 53-47 win over the Greenwave Monday at the State Farm Classic.


Carson JV boys lose

Despite 22 points by Derek Barry, the Senators dropped a thrilling 78-77 overtime decision to Fallon at the State Farm Classic.

Dawson Lamb had 16 points and Wyatt Rooker added 11. Carson is 4-5.

Falcons stop Galena

The Sierra Lutheran JV girls stopped the Galena freshmen, 25-11, at the State Farm Classic behind 11 points by Kirsten Iverson.


FROSH BASKETBALL

CHS loses to Fallon

RENO — The Greenwave knocked off the Senators, 44-29, at the State Farm Classic. Blake Menzel led CHS with eight points.
