Jack passed away peacefully January, 21, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 8, 1936 in Shawnee OK to Vera & Lonnie Dossey. The family moved to Reno in 1941, where Jack attended school graduating from Reno High school in 1954. He married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn (passed away in 1984) and together they moved to Carson City to raise their family. In the early years, he was a member of the Nevada Air National Guard and also worked for NV Bell. He went on to operate & own several successful businesses; Carson Boat & Marine, Carson Cycle Center & Dossey Construction/Excavating, retiring in 2013. In 2010 he met his beloved wife Pat and added her 3 daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren to his family. Pat and Jack made their home in Dayton. He had a great love for boats, drag racing, motorcycles, old cars, black Labs, football and spending time with his family. Jack loved sharing his stories about each of those subjects. He was a master mechanic and could fix anything with a motor attached & enjoyed restoring his 1934 Ford truck. He was a hard working, kind, generous man, whose humble, gracious personality touched all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed by those he touched. He is survived by his wife, Pat, (family) his son, Dan Dossey (Claudia), grand daughters, Kendall (Steven) and Paige, his sister Rosalyn Casey (Garland), nephew, Mark Casey (Family) niece, Karen Cavallaro (family) and numerous other family from Reno to Oklahoma. Private graveside service will take place at The Masonic Cemetery in Reno. Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church, 209 W. 1st St. Reno, NV In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Walton Funeral Home in Reno.
