Education achievements: Carson City’s WNC announces fall 2014 Dean’s List

Scholarship available for female students

The Reno Tahoe Express Network of the American Business Women’s Association, a national women’s networking organization, is offering its 2015 scholarship worth $1,000 to a female college student in Nevada.

Applicants must be citizens of the United States; residents of Nevada and attending a Nevada Community College by Aug., 2015 with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.

Carson natives honored at Pepperdine University

Benjamin and Alexandra Drozdoff of Carson City were named to the fall 2014 Dean’s List at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif.

To make the list, students must be in the upper 10 percent of their class and maintain a 3.5 or better grade-point average.

The Drozdoffs are two of 286 students to receive the honor.

Silver State graduate excels at Iowa college

Amy Harrison, the daughter of Karen and Mark DeBusk of Carson City and a 2014 graduate of Silver State Charter School, was named to the Dean’s List with honors at Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa.
