Nevada Chiropractic Council — whose mission is to protect the integrity of chiropractic, according to its secretary, Dr. Brad Pastro of Advanced Chiropractic and Wellness Center in Carson City — has been established in Nevada.

“Our founding members have, through a lot of hard work, created a body where other like-minded practitioners can participate and be heard by working to legislatively shape future outcomes for chiropractic in Nevada, provide public education and work to raise awareness, while remaining true to our commitment to provide effective, pharmaceutical-free care,” Pastro said.

“Our team simply wants to maintain what each of us knows, which is that chiropractic clears the nerve system of interference, thereby allowing the body to heal itself and function optimally, without the use of drugs or surgery.”

Other board members include: Dr. Deed Harrison, formerly of Elko, who served as past president; Dr. Stephanie Youngblood of Las Vegas, vice president; Dr. Neil Crowley of Reno, treasurer.

Northern Nevada directors are Dr. Russ Hollinger of Reno and Dr. Dennis Verner of Winnemucca. Dr. Jason Jaeger of Las Vegas is the Southern Nevada director.

Nevada Chiropractic Council is a cooperative, inclusive-advocacy initiative for chiropractic as a principled, drug and surgery-free profession with the primary objective of restoring and promoting optimum health through correction of subluxations and normal spinal biomechanics, as well as the promotion of chiropractic to its members and the general public, including governmental representatives.

Annual membership dues are as follows: Doctor is $299; Affiliate (CA-DC Member, DC non-NV) is $49; Affiliate (CA-DC Not a member) is $74; and a Student is $24.99.

The NCC is located at 803 S. 6th St., Las Vegas. For more information, go to www.nevadachiropractic.org, or call 702-518-2188.
