Community roundup: Carson bowlers continue to roll

Tyler Lethcoe, Chris Baird and Conlin Herrick led Carson High’s bowling squad to a 42-3 win over Damonte Ranch.

The win upped Carson’s record to 5-0.

Lethcoe rolled a 279 with a career-best 735 series, while Baird rolled a career-best 289 and a 690 series. Herrick had three 221 games.

Alec Fletcher (233-626), Brett Paulson (223-580), Skylar Belcher (205-564), Matt Liddell (237-553), Eugene Mills (188-549) and Dustin Floyd (203-525) also performed well.

Empire Ranch seeks

men’s group members

Memberships are available for the Senior Men’s Club at Empire Ranch.

You must be 55 to join. The group plays 34 weekly tournaments with nine away tournaments. The season begins on March 11. The dues are $50, which includes NNGA membership. For more information, call 885-2100.

Packers win two indoor

The Carson City Packers knocked off the Dayton Broncos, 33-0, and the Cowboys, 59-30, in Talents Indoor Football League action recently.

In the win over the Cowboys, Keagan Ferris and Alex Myrehn each scored twice. Caid Milligan, Zach Guthrie, Dayna Myrehn, Decarlo Quintana and Parker Story scored once each. Quentin Beck threw two touchdown passes.

Against Dayton, Guthrie threw four TD passes. Alex Myrehn scored twice, while Milligan, Quintana, Story and Dana Myrehn scored once each.

Carson Valley Golf Club is hosting Sweethearts Golf Tournament Saturday at 10 a.m.

The cost is $35. The format is a modified Chapman.

Alta Alpina Challenge

The Alta Alpina Cycling Club, a 501 (c) non-profit corporation, is hosting the annual “Challenge” on June 27.

This event allows cyclists of all abilities to explore the Eastern Sierras near Lake Tahoe. Ride beneath majestic snow-capped mountains, on smooth scenic roads, along the rushing Carson River, while breathing clean crisp air.

The Challenge spans Douglas County and Alpine County. Options exist to ride as little or as far as you want. You can even join dedicated local and international cyclists on “the world’s toughest double century” — 200 miles with 20,000 feet of climbing.
