Wen the law-tinkerers who devised the instrument known as the Constitution of the State of Nevada were gathered together, the miracle which came upon the builders of the Tower of Babel was mildly repeated — figuratively, and not literally nor profanely, speaking. There came down, as form the realms of Chaos and Old Night, a cloud-burst of old law forms and confusion of the jargon of legal traditions of old.

The Legislature of Idaho has passed a bill making Boise City the permament capital and appropriating money for a capitol building, also for an asylum for the insane at Blackfoot.

100 years ago

The largest shipment of bullion ever made by the Tonopah Extension Mining company wet out this morning by Wells Fargo. It consisted of 50 bars, weighing 101,385 ounces, containing $59,000 worth of gold and silver. The cleanup was a result of 15 days run in the mill.

Rev. L.D. Fisher was given permission by city trustees last night to erect a directional sign for First Baptist Church at the corner of Carson and Telegraph streets. One trustee voted against the sign saying there were too many on the street now.

The 40th Annual Conference of the Nevada State Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, will be held March 5 in Carson City.
