“The Inner Life of Mormonism,” the lecture by Mrs. Stenhouse on this subject, last evening in the Assembly chamber, was not so well attended as the highly interesting discourse deserved. Limited space and the lateness of the hour forbids an average report of all the most important points made in this instructive lecture. The lecture lasted an hour and 20 minutes and was listened to with marked attention throughout.

Dust to dust (continued from Thursday). The day was as perfect as could be asked for, and an exceptional one for the season of the year full of warmth and sunshine. At the trenches a place was prepared at the north side of the cemetery. Three trenches were dug about 30 feet long and six feet deep. At the bottom were small excavations for each separate coffin. Major McDermet’s (sic) remains were in the original iron casket in which they were buried at Fort Churchill. (Continued on Saturday).

William J. Driscoll, identification deputy in the office of the Washoe County Sheriff, will give a talk to Ormsby peace officers. Driscoll recently completed a course at the FBI school in Washington.

Mrs. George Meyers presided at the February meeting of the Sagebrush Garden Club yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Robert Sullivan, in the absence of president Mrs. Robert Tolson.

The Senate Finance Committee has killed several requests for state funds to match federal programs. The committee rejected funding for a program to combat illiteracy, manpower development and training.
