Geno Lencioni, former Carson City all-state basketball star now in the army writes from the Palau Islands to Cecil Horan, inclosing a check for $10 to go toward “coke” for the Youth Recreation Center. He writes: “Dear Mr. Horan: How are you ‘C’? Surprised to hear from me? Just a few lines to let you know that I have read in the Daily Appeal about the Youth Center. Boy! You guys are ‘on the ball!’ Enclosed you will find 10 dollars in the form of a money order, which I hope will buy a few bottles of ‘coke’ for the youths of Carson.” Aloha, Geno.

The University of Nevada band will give a free concert tomorrow at the civic auditorium. The 42-piece band will start at 8 p.m. and is sponsored by the Carson Rotary Club.
