Jeanette Mathias Jones

Jeanette Mathias Jones, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2015 in Fallon, NV after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family as she left this earth. Jean was born January 14, 1930 in Trinidad, CO to Keith and Agnes Mathias. She spent her early years in Colorado, then lived in California, Reno, Fernley, and Yerington before finally settling in her beloved town of Fallon, NV, where she spent her last 36 years. She married Lee Rider in 1951, who preceded her in death. She married Joe Jones in 1971 and remained married to him until his death in 2010. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Audrey Rider and two infant grandchildren. Jean is survived by her daughter Leslie Notestine (Paul), of Fallon, and sons Michael Rider of Sun Valley, NV and Stephan Rider (Christie), of Mesa, AZ. Her legacy lives on through her surviving 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, all of whom she loved dearly. A viewing will be held Monday, February 2, 2015 from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at Walton Funeral Home. 875 W. 2nd Street, Reno, NV. Services and burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Veterans Cemetery in Fernley, NV.
