Carson Valley Girls Softball Association has scheduled its sign-up dates for the coming season, and all are going to be at the new Douglas County Community and Senior Center. located at 1329 Waterloo Ln. in Gardnerville.
The four dates are Jan. 31 (noon to 4 p.m.), Feb. 7 (noon to 4 p.m.), Feb. 12 (6 to 8 p.m.) and Feb. 21 (noon to 4 p.m.).
The fees are $80 for girls aged 4-6 an $85 for players 7 and above. The family rate has been set at a max of $160. Returning players need to bring a completed registration form that was received in the mail. New players need to bring their birth certificates. The league age is based on your age as of Dec. 31, 2014.

WNC baseball team
hosts bowling night
The Western Nevada College basebll team is hosting a bowling night on Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. at Gold Dust West Lanes.
The cost is $10 per bowler, which includes three games, shoe rental and a raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased at the event. Funds raised will be donated to the baseball team.
Raffle prizes include a $500 Visa card, two two-night stays at the Gold Dust West Casino as well as packages provided by the WNC Foundation and the Reno Aces. Local dentists Manniko & Holmes have donated a Phillips Sonicare toothbrush.
