Carson City pair to share about visit to Antarctica on Jan. 21

Patrick Pevey and Carol Grenier, 30-year residents of Carson City, will talk about their travels to Antarctica with members of the Carson City Leisure Hour Club on Wednesday, Jan. 21.

Pevey, retired from the state, and Grenier, retired from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, are able to travel and pursue their hobby of nature photography.

Their previous travels took them around the western United States and Alaska, and to Africa, Iceland, Norway, Peru, Ecuador, Patagonia, and three times to Alaska.

The meeting is preceded by a buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m. in Carson Nugget’s Capitol Ballroom. Reservations for dinner are required.

The Leisure Hour Club, established in Sept., 1896, is Carson City’s oldest continuously operating social organization. Now celebrating its 118th year, the organization continues to focus on its goal of promoting knowledge on important issues, science, music and literature.
