Observations of the Board of Supervisors

Supervisor Jim Shirk appears to have totally alienated the rest of the Board of Supervisors because he does not vote much with the majority. What a really sad commentary this is, when, in my opinion, he represents the feelings of the community more than any other.

Putting a neophyte (who is employed in real estate and family consists of realtors) on a monetary board dealing in property taxes is a pretty large conflict of interest, even though Mr. Bonkowski did not vote on her appointment. The time has past for the continual appointment of friends and family by select members of the Board. It smacks of what it is — deceit of the residents of our community.

Does anyone else find it odd that Supervisor Bonkowski has a “for pay” business where he represents property owners to obtain reductions in their taxes granted by this board? Conflict, ethics, where are they?
