Chinese murder in Reno. A little Chinese man who did killing here and was set at liberty was assassinated. A shot was fired through the window of Gue Ye’s place striking him in the neck and killing him instantly (Crescent).

A vigilant officer. Special Officer Furlong noticed some peculiar actions of Chinese men connected with Sweeney’s restaurant and hid himself in the buildings in the rear. He discovered that the Chinese were passing out boiled hams and roast chickens to their brothers on the outside. Furlong pounced upon the thieves and landed them in jail. This is the kind of a man to have, as that will have a good effect upon the thieves that infest the city.
