Pets of the Homeless in Carson City is seeking a volunteer with professional phone skills and computer experience. This volunteer opportunity involves conversing with Pets of the Homeless volunteers across the U.S.
USDA is partnering with Friends in Service Helping (FISH) to offer food distribution to low income individuals and families in the Carson area every other month. Volunteers are needed the third Friday of every other month from 8 to 11 a.m. to help with sign-ups and food distribution. The next distribution is March 20 from 9 to 11 a.m. Help keep our community fed and sign up today.
RSVP is in need of volunteer drivers to transport local seniors and adults with disabilities to important medical appointments and errands.
Many home bound seniors face the challenges of isolation and experience difficultly with everyday tasks such as sorting mail, grocery shopping, and socialization. RSVP needs dedicated volunteers to help make a difference. Commitments and placements are extremely flexible.
All volunteers receive orientation and training. Also, volunteers can receive out-of-pocket expenses such as mileage reimbursement and are covered by several insurances.
