Jim McHugh passed away suddenly on Jan. 5 from complications with pneumonia. Jim was born in Wabash, Indiana and moved with his family to his Los Angeles at the age of 6. He served in the USCG and upon discharge, he started a career. He worked for Paso Robles Press; Paso Robles Boy’s School, Atascadero State, Continental Can Co. and owned a Saloon. It was not until 1980 that Jim found his new career in the Nevada department of corrections. He had a great compassion for his job, and had touched many lives. Upon his retirement, he traveled in his RV to many places and was reciding in his favorite place, Markleeville, Ca. Prior to his passing, he truly enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, his family, and many friends. Jim was a member of the Moose, Eagles, VFW, and ECV’s. Jim is survived by his three children, Debbie, with Grandchildren, David, Jessica, and Jeremy. Tamella, with grandchildren, Ryan and Chris. And Brian, with Grandchildren, Tristin and Devin. He is also survived by his brothers, Dennis and Tim. Jim lived his life to the fullest, and died at the top of his game. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 17, 2014 at the Carson City Eagles Hall, 1380 East 5th St. from 10:30 to 1:30.
