Another week, another drop in the price of gasoline is reported in Carson City, Nevada and the nation by GasBuddy.com.

Once again, however, the top analyst for the gas price website warned it can’t last long. The precise warning from Patrick DeHaan, senior website petroleum analyst:

“This is the week that we’ll see the return to a national average of $1.99 per gallon, but motorists shouldn’t expect it to last very long.” He said a rise last year began in February and he anticipates that again next month, though he said prices should remain lower than in recent years.

In Carson City, the website Monday morning reported 16 stations with unleaded regular below $2 a gallon. The lowest about mid-day was Mavrik at College Parkway and Research Way, which posted $1.93, with the Quik Stop at North Roop Street and Old Hot Spring Road coming in second with $1.94.

The gas price monitoring website said Monday that average retail gas prices in Nevada fell 4.7 cents per gallon the previous week, averaging $2.19 a gallon Sunday, based on daily survey of 1,130 stations. The national average fell 2.3 cents in the same week to $2.02 a gallon.
