Nevada inmate serving time for making child pornography dies in Carson City

Authorities say a 78-year-old inmate jailed for producing child pornography and statutory sexual seduction died at a Carson City prison hospital.

Nevada Department of Corrections officials said Monday Robert Haase died Jan. 1 at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center’s medical facility.

Officials say an autopsy was planned.

Haase was serving five years to life with the possibility of parole for producing child pornography and two to five years for statutory sexual seduction in Washoe County.

He had been in prison since February 2003.
