Came to grief. Yesterday afternoon Miss Sallie Hart, accompanied by a number of fair Virginians of the gentler sex, visited the Warm Springs at Carson. After indulging in the luxury of a swimming bath, they started back to Carson. When they finished about half the journey, the dilapidated vehicle broke down and landed them in the mud. The ladings, being desirous of taking the 4 o’clock train for Virginia, had to foot it the rest of the way into town through the mud, a distance of one mile. Having but a few moments to spare, they accomplished a remarkable pedestrian feat, arriving at the depot just in time for the evening train. — Enterprise.

“Dave.” Since Dan O’Connell came back from the Sandwich Islands, he frequently alludes in his conversation to “Dave” as being a good fellow and “all that you know.” One day someone asked Dan who “Dave” was, and Dan, putting on his eye glasses with a look of astonishment, replied: “Why, Dave’s the King, you ------- fool.”

Wynton C. (Bill) Clark, a Carson City painting contractor, has been named by Ormsby County Commissioner Keith McDonald to the dual post of administrator of county welfare and county farm supervisor.
