Carson City road report for July 6-12

The following information applies to the period of July 6-12:

Beginning Monday, July 6, Clear Creek Avenue will be closed to through traffic between Frontage Road and Center Drive due to utility work. Detours will be signed and the JAC bus stop on Clear Creek Avenue will be temporarily relocated near the intersection of Frontage Road and Clear Creek Avenue.

Division Street will be closed between Sophia and William streets for sidewalk improvements as well as Sophia Street just west of Division Street. Work will occur from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day and detours will be in place. The JAC bus stop on Route 2A on Division Street just south of Sophia Street will be temporarily closed.

Utility work will continue Monday, July 6, through Thursday, July 9, with closures along Eighth Street between Curry Street and Minnesota Street from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day. Detours will be signed.

There will be intermittent lane closures on Roop Street between Robinson Street and Beverly Drive due to roadway maintenance. Two-way traffic will be maintained, drivers are advised to use caution.

The Nevada Department of Transportation will continue construction of drainage improvements on U.S. Highway 50 West between the two truck ramps (just west of U.S. 395 to Sierra Highlands Drive). There will be lane closures Monday through Friday, but the roadway will remain open to traffic in both directions.

The Nevada Department of Transportation will continue work on the construction of the next phase of the Carson City Freeway. Installation of fencing along the freeway corridor from Fairview Drive down to the Carson Street/US 50 W intersection will continue and there will be work on the shoulder of northbound S. Carson Street between Old Clear Creek Road and Snyder Avenue.

On Thursday, July 9, there will be lane closures on Eagle Station Lane between Carson Street and Silver Sage Drive due to utility work. Delays will be minimal.

The following road closures will occur due to special events:

John Street will be closed between Carson Street and Curry Street from 6 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8, to 1 a.m. on Thursday, July 9.

Curry Street will be closed between Fleischmann Street and William Street from 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, to 1 a.m. on Thursday, July 9.

Third Street will be closed between Carson Street and Curry Street on Friday, July 10, from 2 p.m. to midnight.
