No water. A large loss of property from Sunday’s fire was because the city water was turned off, barely sufficient to allow it to run through the pipes. Carson was at the mercy of the fire because there was no head of water in the hydrants.

Find boy, lost dad. Washoe County Sheriff’s deputies found young Alan Chapin of Reno. He disappeared during an afternoon family picnic near Hunter Lake reservoir. His father was out searching for his son had when he became lost in the rugged brush and tree-covered hills too. Sheriff’s deputies found him four hours later.
