A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued until 3:15 p.m. for southeastern Douglas County, along with south central Lyon County and Alpine and Mono counties.
The National Weather Service said the storm is capable of producing quarter-sized hail, torrential rainfall and damaging winds.
The storm was located over Coleville and moving north at 10 mph around 2:30 p.m.

At 3:05 p.m. a storm was being tracked from near Dayton northward to Virginia City. The locations impacted by this story include Virginia City, Golf Hill, Dayton and U.S. 50 between Carson City and Stagecoach.

The storms are part of system that has the National Weather Service issuing a flash flood warning for western Nevada — including Carson City, Douglas and Lyon counties and the greater Lake Tahoe region until 9 p.m. tonight.
Storms are expected to be slow moving and capable of producing very heavy rain in a short period of time.
The NWS warns motorists not to cross flooded streets.
