William L. Welch, Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather and Brother, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the VA Medical Center in Reno, NV after a brief illness. Bill was born on August 7,1926 in San Luis, Colorado and raised in Taos, New Mexico. However, he enjoyed the last 52 years of his life in Nevada (Elko, Carson City, and Sparks). Bill enlisted in the Marine Corp in 1942 and served in the South Pacific during WWII. Bill will best be remembered for his four great passions in life: Faith, Family, being a Marine, and the Outdoors. Bill also loved being around people. The family envisions Bill sitting by a stream in Heaven with a fishing pole in hand, chatting with everyone that walks by. He is survived by his wife Marie, daughter Lenore (Brian) Gnos, son Bill (Leanne) Welch, daughter Teresa Brown, son Michael (Terry) Bird, son Marc Welch, daughter Yvonne (Dave) Cunningham, daughter Becky (John) Aguirre; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and younger brother, Epifanio Welch. Services will be held on August 1st at 1:00pm at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sparks, Nevada, with a reception following at the Cunningham home.
