The Late Indian Fight — Captain Wells called on us yesterday having just arrived from the scene of the fight which he had with the Indians on the 20th. The scene of the fight is at a point about 130 miles N.E. from Gravelly Ford and about 75 miles from Paradise Valley. He found the Indians, as before stated intrenched on the top of a hill which was inaccessible. (Continued on Wednesday.)

About sacks. Already some of the state papers are beginning to talk about the scandalous way or elections are carried on, and are at the same time praying for a “clean fight.” By this it is supposed that they mean to have the Senatorial fight made without money. This is very nice on paper, but when looked at from a business standpoint, it is utterly impossible for the best man to win when his opponent throws out all the money and he does not.

Led by the Carson City band, a parade formed of groups of all veteran organizations, Boy Scouts, Cubs and Girl Scouts, marched up Carson Street yesterday in observance of Memorial Day. At the program at Lone Mountain cemetery, the invocation was given by Msgr. Weintjes, and members of the Custer Relief Corps.
