The following information applies to the period of June 15-21.
The Nevada Department of Transportation will begin preparation work for the construction of the next phase of the Carson City freeway. It will begin installation of fencing along the freeway corridor from Fairview Drive down to the Carson Street/U.S. 50 W. intersection. Activity will be off-street and will not have an impact on traffic.
Work will continue on westbound Fifth Street between Well Way and Pasture Drive due to work on the north side of the median. Some delays are expected.
Work will continue for sidewalk improvements being constructed at the main entrance to Western Nevada College from College Parkway. The entrance to the main parking lot will be closed. Please use caution.
Beginning Monday, June 15, through Thursday, June 18, there will be utility work with closures along Eighth Street from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day. There will be flagger controlled traffic at the following locations with minor delays possible.
Eighth Street between Carson and Minnesota streets.
Minnesota Street between Sixth and Ninth streets.
Curry Street at the intersection of Eighth Street.
Nevada Street at the intersection of Eighth Street.
Division Street at the intersection of Eighth Street.
Nevada Street at the intersection of Seventh Street.
Due to an event, the following road closures are scheduled to occur from 1 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, June 20.
Second Street between Carson and Curry streets.
Third Street between Carson and Curry streets.
Proctor Street between Carson and Curry streets.
Telegraph Street between Carson and Nevada streets.
Telegraph Street between Carson and Plaza streets.
Curry Street between King and Spear streets.
Proctor Street between Carson and Plaza streets from 10 a.m. to midnight.
Musser Street between Carson and Nevada streets from 3 p.m. to midnight.
Though not in Carson City, the Nevada Department of Transportation will be performing roadway maintenance on U.S. 50 from SR 341, or Virginia City Junction, to Chavez Road in Lyon County. Work will begin today, continuing through Thursday, June 18, and there will be one lane closed in each direction from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly. No delays are expected.
