The Northern Nevada JobConnect officesis having a hiring event for the Starbucks Roasting Plant and Distribution Center in Minden on Saturday. Jobseekers interested in being interviewed must visit their nearest Nevada JobConnect office by 3 p.m. Friday to apply. Pre-screened applicants will be scheduled for interviews with Starbucks between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday. Starbucks will not interview applicants who have not been pre-screened through Nevada JobConnect.
“We are pleased to provide assistance to Starbucks in finding new employees for its roasting plant and distribution center,” said Renee Olson, administrator for the Employment Security Division of Nevada’s Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation. “Connecting businesses with jobseekers is just one of the many services that we provide. We are here to help jobseekers find jobs, but also to help businesses find the most qualified employees.”
Nevada JobConnect provides employment-related services at no cost to jobseekers and businesses. Businesses can take advantage of services such as hiring event/job fair assistance, recruitment, applicant pre-screening, assessments, access to Nevada’s largest database of qualified job seekers, Silver State Works business incentives, labor market and economic information, and training resources.
Job Seeker services include referrals to jobs, job boards, on-line jobs data base, resume-writing assistance, referrals for job training programs, resource centers with computers, and dedicated employment services for Veterans and people with disabilities.
