We invite the attention of our friends and public in general to the oldest Pioneer Brewery in the Territory, where we are prepared at all times to furnish our patrons with ‘Lager in Small or Large Quantities.’ We also wish to intimate to our friends that it is conducive to health to see us at our Brewery and imbibe a cool and foaming drought… together with ‘Switzer Kase and Pretzel.’ Malt and Hops supplied to Brewers in quantities to suit.”

Jake Torbiner’s cat: Jake had purchase a gold watch and chain as a birthday present for his wife. He laid it down and a moment later, it was gone. At dinner he said the joke had gone far enough, and asked his wife to please produce the watch. It was then Jake heard a noise on the stoop and found the cat with the chain tangled around her neck. He grabbed at her, but she ran under the house. He heard a noise, and the cat was upon the woodshed with the watch still around her neck. He climbed up with a bowl of milk for the cat, but she ran under the chicken house… He went to get the gun to shoot the cat, but miraculously she appeared with the watch still dangling from her neck, and Jake was able to retrieved it.
