Sue Vradenburg, 41 year Carson City resident, passed away in Thousand Oaks CA on June 22, 2015 at age 89. Sue is survived by her daughters Becky Vradenburg Siegel of Monument CO and Marilyn Vradenburg Bush of Simi Valley CA. She also had two sons, Butch Vradenburg and Joseph Vradenburg, both previously deceased. She has 8 grand-children and 11 great-grand-children. Sue grew up in S. California, and married her husband Ralph Vradenburg at the onset of WWII and then worked in a factory supporting the war effort. Eventually she and Ralph relocated to Carson City where she raised the remaining children at home and became involved in the local community. She went back to school, graduating with a nursing degree at age 52, and worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in Reno NV until her retirement. She also served as a volunteer docent for the Nevada State Museum until 2014. She received her Aerobics license at age 70. She won a number of fitness awards while in her 70’s and 80’s, including winning a snow shoeing competition at North Lake Tahoe at age 73! She was a 20 year member of the Carson City Walkers. Sue and Ralph celebrated 70 years of marriage before his passing.
